Ikea Hack DIY Farmhouse Table

You ever want something but didn't want to build it entirely from scratch or spend a fortune on it?  I feel that's where Ikea comes in.  I've always wanted a farmhouse table, and when you have kids you know how it is to have chairs laid out all over the place.  Well that goes with anything when you have kids :P

Anyways after searching online and visiting so many furniture stores, I ended up deciding on the this table from Ikea.  We found the benches on clearance, so it was almost like it was meant to be!

Here is the sad plain before table.  I wasn't feeling well so it took me a while before I actually got around to doing something with this table.  My husband pushed me to work on it and I'm glad he did.  I was scared of messing the table up at first but just thought to myself, "what's the worse it could get?"

At first I used a 220 sand disc and it barely scratched the surface of the wax on the table.  I moved on to a 100 grit, then 30.  I needed to be able to feel some rawness on the wood before I even attempted to stain it.  I primed, stained, then sealed it.  I did mess up a few times so I had to re-sand it and do it all over again..but honestly it made the look even better!  Gave it a bit of distress.

I painted the legs white with BEHR's Ultra prime and paint.  I did the same process with the wood benches we got from Ikea.

Here's my décor so far for the summer.  All of it is from Michael's except the two silver pot holders on the sides.

I hope this helped you if you came here looking to ideas with your table.

Jordana EasyLiner Swatches in Tawny and Rock n Rose

Firstly let me say that my Rock n Rose pencil is dirty because I use it all the time, BUT I included a swatch in the pic (so that counts right?).
These definitely are easy to line your lips with.  They run no more than $3 at Walgreens and they never fail me.  Try these out if you love products that are affordable AND work.

Review time!

I purchased these with my own money**

PROS: lenses are comfortable 4/5
color is opaque
price is decent considering this is supposed to be a yearly disposable
made for astigmatism!

CONS: Wait time :( I waited approximately 2 months for these to be made directly from the factory but it was well worth it.
No enlargement effect (but I don't care for it, I know some do)

I have been wearing these for a good 4 weeks and these are comfortable.  With my astigmatism I cannot find any colored lenses.  I am -6.00 with axis 160 in one eye and the other axis 20.  The lenses on the American market only go up to -4.00 as far as I have searched.  I don't always desire a change in my eye color but I do like to switch it up sometimes like I do with my eyeshadow.

The clarity in these are good.  I would rate it a 4/5.  My normal prescribed clear lenses are by Air Optix and even those get blurry or start to move around on my by the evening, so to have clarity and comfort last a while this was well worth the 2 month wait.  I plan on ordering different colors.

You can click here to find these lenses.  Pinkyparadise has never failed me and has excellent customer service.  I have never once had a rude email sent back to me and their communication is great.

Ion Color Brilliance Brights in Aqua

Hello blue hair!  I wanted a change out of my comfort zone, if you know me I would have most likely chose pink.  I am loving this blue though, I feel like I am able to pull off more cool toned pastels with my makeup looks.

The application was easy, I used my suave conditioner (about a whole bowl) and half a tube of the Ion Color Brilliance to dilute it, then let it sit for 30 minutes.  I am definitely looking forward to trying different colors  from this line!

I'd also like to note that I did pre-lighten my hair prior to appying color to it.

Review: Nivea In-shower Body Lotion for normal to dry skin 💜

Let me start off by saying I LOVE THIS!!!  This works better than regular lotion IMO. My legs are ASHY.  ASHY as in it looks like I was kicking around flour :( and this is everyday, not just in the winter. When I use regular body lotion my legs still start to look ashy in the morning. When I used the in-shower lotion my legs did not look ashy still looked hydrated.

Its the formulation that I like of this. I don't feel that it is too greasy but I do feel moisturized after using it.

Important notes: if you have not used in-shower lotions before, you are supposed to apply this like lotion after cleansing your body, then rinse off.  Your tub will get build up but I find this saves time so I don't mind cleaning my tub when I have to. I usually clean it once a week anyways.

I got this BOGO 1/2 off at Walgreen's so pretty much 2 for $12. I have seen bugger bottles at Walmart and it is most likely cheaper there.

This is worth the try if you are a multitasker have dry skin.

Tmart Eyelashes Review: Best deal on internet!

Click HERE for the link to where I purchased these from.
None of these items were sent to me, this is an honest review of my purchase from http://www.tmart.com/

The lashes are light, they look heavy (I thought they'd be heavy) but they aren't.  They are definitely a glam look and flutter well if you curl them.  I am sure I will repurchase these!! I love how dolly they make me look.

I made the discovery of Tmart back in 2012.  They have fast free shipping and great customer service.  I have never had any issues with their products and the lashes always come in brand new condition.

Tmart has the best deals on the internet for eyelashes that I can trust.  I have ordered from a few different sites like eBay but they took too long to get to me and if I wanted it faster I would have to pay more.  I don't have to worry about that with Tmart.

Tmart also has a variety of different beauty products and tech gears.

Curls on a Budget: Remington Diamond Shine 1" Flat Iron

You can find this flat iron at Target for only $20!  I have tried a number of flat irons and honestly I really did not feel like shelling out $100 for another one.

You can find more details HERE but I will go through with my pros and con's.

http://m.target.com/p/remington-new-diamond-shine-1-ceramic-flat-iron/-/A-14802340

OK so my hair I'd curled in both pictures and I used the Diamond shine flat iron to do it. It was simple and my curls lasted all day.

Pros: floating plates so no hair snags
Very lightweight
Digital so it shuts off in case you forget lol
Heats up quickly
Doesn't smell burnt when you turn it on
Has a latch lock to keep it closed for travel

Cons: none as of now, I have no idea how long this will last me but I hope it'll stick around because I love it!!

Review: SEPHORA COLLECTION Microsmooth Baked Sculpting Contour Trio in Sweet

I am wearing the trio above. This is perfect for travel if you want to carry light. The highlighter has very finely milled shimmer and no glitter!

The bronzer can double up as contour and eye shadow, all of these can. 😉. The least favorite of mine is the blush, it shows up on my skin if I pile it on but fades within a few hours.

Would I buy this again?  No. I just feel there are better products out there and for $21 I was expecting a longer lasting wea .

You will love this if you are always on the go and like a natural look.

Draw Your Brows On Easy! Fast and Clean

I got this idea from one of Pixiwoo's videos.  She used masking tape to draw on brows for Malificent and her lines were really clean..then a light bulb went off in my head and I was like, "I have to try that!!"

At first it takes some practice getting the tape onto the angle you want it and making sure the other side is even, but once you know what look you're going for it becomes a breeze.  Laugh all you want but my eyebrows grow out FUNKY so this helps me out so much.

I use ELF's gel eyeliner in dark brown for fill in my brows.  I do my brows after I left my moisturizer sink into my skin, then the rest of my makeup afterwards.  The tape adheres better to my skin and the gel stays on all day, no fading or smudging.  I also use my Motive's Sculpt Contour Palette to clean up my brows.

Dry Your Makeup Brushes Easily!

I wanted to try something different with drying my brushes and instead of drying them on a towel rack where people do their business, I wanted my brushes to be in a clean area.

I used the Ikea scarf organizer which you can find HERE, and a bundle of hair ties I bought from Forever 21.  I only have one brush that has two brushes on each end so I had to hang it sideways, but most for the rest I hung them upside down so that the water doesn't seep into the glue causing them to shed.

You can pretty much hang this anywhere where you want to, I find that the warmth from the sun helps dry these quickly.

I use a variety of brushes in case you're wondering.  Nothing worthy of making a blog post on, but for face brushes I prefer using kabuki style to buff in my foundation.

The hair ties I got from Forever 21, they come in a cute silicone cupcake wrap.

Bright Colorful Look using LA COLORS 16 Eyeshadow Palette in HAUTE

This is my first time trying LA COLORS eyeshadows and I am not disappointed!  All of the colors in this palette are pigmented.  There are no matte eyeshadows in the palette but these are all so gorgeous and vibrant!  The darker pink one is my favorite, it has a glistening of blue sheen to it.  You'd be able to create a lot of different looks with this palette for $4 ;)

Kiss, D.U.P., Koji Eye Charm, Ardell Lash Adhesives Review!

Left to Right: D.U.P. Eyelashes Fixer FX in Clear $12.99
Koji Eye Charm Double Eyelid Glue (will explain down below) $10.99
Ardell Brush-On Lash Adhesive $3.99
Bottom: Kiss Clear Strip Lash Adhesive $5.99

If you LOVE faux eyelashes like I do and wear them often or all the time, eyelash glue is an important product!  Before I become more educated about how to keep eyelashes on all day, I used to wear Duo or Ardell's dark lash adhesive.  Those are the latex ones, while those did work and hold up, my lashes would still "lift" at the corner or my eyes and I would end up ripping them off after a few hours..or worry about them lifting so i'd have to carry back up.

WELL..I don't have to worry much ever anymore.  My absolute favorite eyelash glue is ...drumroll please... KISS CLEAR STRIP LASH ADHESIVE!!

♥Kiss is available STATESIDE, which means I don't have to order it online to find it and have to pay for shipping.  It is affordable and I can see this lasting me a while.  I will most likely stock up on these since I've heard they are hard to find, I found mine at a local Walgreen's :)
♥Kiss is easier to clean off of eyelashes, not as easy as Koji Eye Charm, but still doable.  I soak my used eyelashes in eye makeup remover, then peel off the glue to reuse.  This is a little tough to get off but it doesn't do too much damage to the eyelashes if I am careful while cleaning them.

♥Kiss does not have the stinky smell that Duo/Ardell does.  It's also latex free for anyone who is allergic.  The smell almost reminds me of Elmer's glue, it doesn't bother me nor does it linger on.

♥Staying power is amazing with this, I have ZERO lifting, it stays on all day even through the wind (yes those nasty cold windy days).  It dries fast and doesn't cause too much of a mess.

Here is what the applicator looks like for the Kiss Lash Adhesive.  It makes it easy for you to apply a light amount (if that's what you prefer).

This is D.U.P.'s eyelash adhesive applicator.

D.U.P.'s eyelashes fixer fx is supposed to be the best one in Japan next to Dolly Wink's.  I find this comparable to Kiss's but, this glue is ridiculously hard to get off of my used lashes.  I tried soaking them in really hot soapy water, makeup remover, and even almond oil and the glue wouldn't come off the lashes..causing me to toss a lot of them away.

The glue does not have a weird fishy odor and the bottle applicator applies glue onto the lashes well.  I honestly had high hopes for this but didn't like that I had to throw out my lashes after each use.

Koji Eye Charm Double Eyelid Glue

Yes..eyelid glue.  I ordered it once out of curiosity but tried it as an eyelash adhesive and it works really well.  It's also not hard to remove, and to be honest I would use this over D.U.P.'s.  It stays tacky (which means it will hold up well) and is easy to remove when cleaning.  I'm just running out of this one so if I didn't have Kiss's lash adhesive, I would purchase another bottle of this.
**
Ardell's Brush-On Lash adhesive (there's no picture of the applicator because you can see it in the tube already).  My favorite thing about this glue is that it dries really fast.  Almost like a brush on then go.  You have to be careful with this one though, if you get it in your eye it will sting like a bee!  I used to use this all the time until I found that it just wasn't holding up as well anymore.  I like using this glue for the individual lashes because it dries fast.

My thoughts about the Duo and Ardell latex lash adhesives, both are similar.  I know people say Duo is much stronger but I feel as if they work the same for me.  I always get lifting with both, unless i'm wearing individual lashes with these.  I also don't like that it takes a while for the glue to get tacky, and let's not forget the fishy odor.  I hope they both take a look at Kiss's glue product and realize there needs to be a change!  After trying different kinds of glue, I prefer these brush on types that have a very strong sticky glue.

Not all eye shapes are the same so glues work differently for each eye shape.

I hope this post helps for anyone looking for a new eyelash adhesive to try!

My personal review:

The first thing I noticed about these lens were that they were soft!  They don't dry out my eyes and they don't give me that scratchy feeling.

These will definitely show up on dark eyes, I have very dark brown eyes and as you can see in the picture, the lens are very opaque.

It does have a bigger diameter so it will enlarge your eyes for most definitely.  Even for a big diameter, the lens still don't feel dry on my eyes.

Flower Beauty High Shine Lip Color in Morning Glory Swatch and Look

I have been going through a lipstick phase..buying them left to right :/ Can't help it!

Flower Beauty's packaging is so pretty!  I haven't tried much from them, but I am definitely a fan of their clean lovely packaging.

PROS:
♥pigmented
♥creamy
♥doesn't dry out my lips
♥cute packaging

CONS:
♦doesn't last too long on my lips but that's probably because it's a lighter color
