Just a thought

As much as I love makeup palettes, I find that I always end up using seperate pieces even if that palette has everything I need. I suppose it's just the idea of having everything in one package that attracts me, since I am a simple person and I love multi-tasking.

So I really need to stop looking at palettes. haha. They only come in handy when I travel, and I really don't do that often.

I would love these, I am still a little girl at heart! $32 from Sanrio.

Crowded Teeth's giraffe edition at Hot Topic. I really just think it's cute.

..and the matching bag.
I have realized something though, the thing that stops me from buying these cute little things is the way I dress. Sometimes I feel a bit too overdressed. ..but for now all I have in my closet is a bunch of pink, tanks, and shorts.

Alpha Hydroxy Face Cream 8% by Walgreen's

Walgreens Alpha Hydroxy Face Cream is a Fragrance Free Skin Treatment and exfoliator to help gently restore a fresh, healthy and more youthful appearance.
You can read the review about this product here:
Alpha Hydroxy Acid, a natural, non-toxic derivative of sugar cane, removes dead skin cells, assists skin tone and skin texture
Slight and temporary tingling or stinging may result.
Contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid - Glycolic Acid: 8% of Pure 70% Solution.

This is not my official review, but I wanted to blog about me using this.
I have been using this for a few days so far at night and on days that I do not wear makeup. I apply moisturizer with sunscreen on top if I do wear this during the daytime, since this does make your skin more sensitive to the sun.
..and the best part about this? So far I have noticed a slight fade in my scars! It's only been a few days I know but i'm excited. I do experience slight tingling/stinging when applying this but it just lets me know it's doing it's job.
If anything else happens..I will update!

Revlon's Mineral Finishing Powder in Brighten

My 5 Minute makeup routine..literally.
Face: EDM intensive..a mixture of medium tan and winged butter
Milani's Luminous Blush
Revlon's mineral finishing powder in Brighten
Eyes: urban decay's gridlock
femme couture's cake eyeliner for shading and liner
rimmel's kojal liner in white
ardell's "wispies" eyelashes
mac's ploof! for highlight under brows
mascara: full-n-soft by maybelline
Lips: nivea's a kiss of moisture

$13.99 @ Walgreen's as of now. They are having a BOGOF so get your hands on one of these if you don't have a highlighter yet. It also comes in sunkissed and suntan matte.

It is not overly sparkly and it blends into your skin very well giving you a GLOW. It does NOT make me look shiny, but rather glowy. I apply this on my forehead, cheeks, and nose.
It is also talc-free so it has not been irritating my skin. I am loving this as so far.
I tried the Mineral Mousse foundation by Revlon that recently just came out and I did not like it. I am a liquid/mineral girl. They need more varieties of colors also. The staying power was awesome, I just wasn't digging it.

My Skincare Routine as of April 2009

facial wash: philosphy's purity (milky formula) to remove makeup -[$10-$45 depending on the size you buy]
clearasil's sensitive skin cream cleanser - it's the only thing that will not break me out [$4 in most stores]
facial scrub: st. ive's apricot scrub in invigorating - the only thing that makes my skin feels like it's really getting an exfoliation and it definitely smooths my skin out for my foundation application [$3-$4 in most stores]
facial toner: beyond belief's witch hazel - there's not a lot of alcohol in it, not much and it does not dry my skin out. it actually makes it feel moisturized and i believe it's been helping with my acne :) [$4 at sally's beauty supply]
facial moisturizer for daytime: olay complete for oily/combo skin - again this does not break me out and keeps me matte for a good number of hours if i'm not outside. it also makes my skin soft! [$10 at most stores]
facial moisturizer for nighttime: olay night firming creme - just started using this but it sinks in easy and i do feel it firming my skin. my eyes were drooping the other day and i woke up with them alive and well :) [$6 at most stores]
facial masques: queen helen's mint julep (for when i'm having acne days)
queen helen's olive oil masque for my dry days
After my pregnancy is over, I really want to try skin treatments to fade my acne scars and improve my skintone better. As for now it's not so bad, I just have a shitload of scars! :(

Important ELF update!

I bought this in my last ELF haul.

..and now it's shedding like crazyyyy!!

i am so sad. :(

I really love the brush, but it takes forever to dry and it is shedding like crazy. This brush does a wonderful-splendid job at applying my foundation on, but the fact that it cannot hold it's pieces together is making me grumpy.

I went to kmart today and bought a POSH brush. If it sheds I will let you guys know. I do wash my brushes everyday that I use for foundation. ..only because i feel it's sanitary that way. Once in a while I get lazy but most of the time I wash them everyday.

Konad Nail Art kit and other stuff!

I ordered these off of www.ocnailart.com and she does super fast shipping! If you enter in the code: joshura -you get 20% off. Orders over $20 get free shipping!! It's the best deal i've found so far and the special polishes are 2 for $12. I live in Florida and she got this to me in 3 days from Cali. :)
Anyways, I ordered the Special polish in Black, Konad image plate in M57, and the kit that costs $15 i think. The kit comes with a scraper, stamper, M2 plate, and a small white special polish. It's great for beginners.

I bought the Petites nail polish today in Dare from wal-mart. They're about $1.50 each I believe and I love them. I've actually got a bunch of them.

I'm most likely going to order more image plates since I'm really loving the little cat that was on the M2. As for the leopard/cheetah print and zebra, i'm okay with them. I like to get creative I guess.

This is my leopard print. I used China glaze's Spontaneous, konad M57 leopard print, and sally's nail art pen in gold. I really love China glaze's "fast forward top coat" because it dries my nail polishes quickly and hardens them. I don't have to wait long for them to dry after I apply the top coat.

I also bought this today. It's funny because I was going to buy the bath and body version for $4.50 for a trial size, then while the hubs and i were in wal-mart, i found this and it smelled exactly the same. ..but for $1.50. haha and the best part is the hubs loves the smell. :)

chubby me. i can't wait to lose weight. then again i can't help it if every once in a while i crave a donut.

Almost 31 weeks pregnant and I can't wait to see my little babe. Just for your information I am 5'6" and I guess i was thin before I got pregnant. I have gained a lot of weight and although I do not look like I am 31 weeks pregnant, I certainly freaking feel that way!
My back is starting to hurt and walking is becoming a pain in the ass. I had some slight cramping like menstrual cramping the other day but it went away. I still want to workout though. It really helps keep my weight gain at a slow pace.

We finally got my little Keenan his bed things. (my lil' snuggle bear!) The crib got here a month ago I believe or a few weeks, whichever, it's a 4-in-1 crib so it's huge. I am loving it though because it turns into a toddler bed too!
We still have the carseat and bath things to buy but i'm glad we got this because I get to look at it everyday! I wanted a neutral color because it's more please to my eye I guess, and I feel like blue is so cliche. ..eh. It's in our bedroom until he turns 1 or when we feel like he's ready to move on.
The wall decor looks so much better in person and I'm not done with it yet either. I'm gonna find letterings to spell out his name in the center. I have so much clothes that I still need to wash of his. *whew* i'm getting a workout just thinking of it!

alright...i'm gonna go lay on my back massager.

Femme Couture Haul + Sunset Eyes

At Sally's these are buy 2 get 1 free til the end of this month! :)
l2r: brow wax, cake liner, undereye concealer

This is how the brow wax looks like. I LOVE this product. I find it gives my brows a more polished/natural look since I do just fill them in.

This is the cake liner, it's actually black and grey but the flash wiped it out. It is very pigmented and all I really do is use a sponge tip applicator to liner the top part of my eyes, then take a liner brush to line my lower lash line. I find this more pigmented and darker than mac carbon, since this formula is different. The grey is pigmented also and is super great for smokey looks!

I used: elf's gold custom eyeshadow color, nyx flamingo, ploof from mac as a highlighter, and the dark black is the cake liner from femee couture. you can see my brows are more in place except for on the right because i wasn't being detailed with this look.

I've been breaking out for some reason, i'm going to stop using my face shop primer to see if that's the reason being.

I dont know what it is

But I can't help it when I want things! It's so horrible. ...I wish I did have a job so I could buy myself things hahaha. :)

I've been looking at their jewelry. I'm a big sterling silver fan. We'll see what I can get myself within a month or two. I've been wanting a necklace with a small pendant. Just don't know which one I want yet.

I still need my beauty refills and it's only been a month. I'm awful but I seriously need to stop!

I love shopping. I'm a good shopper though, the only time I splurge is when I get an "okay" from the husband. (which is most of the time but i'm still a good girl)

I just wish this damn store wasn't 2 hours away from me!! *angry face* I have to order online now :(

Jaqua Lip Gloss Ring in Pink Buttercream Frosting

I went to Ulta on Sunday I think...but anyways I picked this up. It was $8 but I was just curious really. I was expecting it to smell good but it has no fragrance. The packaging sells it all like always.

For $8 the ring could have at least had some gemstones on it. lol

Nee thinks i'm silly whenever I wear this. I tell him I don't care :P

On my bare lips. It does have a slight hint of color and shimmer in it.

Elizabeth's hot dog Mia!
This is the sweater I bought her when Nee and I were in Petsmart. I always think of her whenever get go into pet stores now. She's so adorable!

Ardell Dark Eyelash Glue

Ardell's Eyelash glue in Dark.

I got this for $2.99 at Sally's.

You probably won't be able to find the "dark" versions in drugstores but I don't know. I love it though, sometimes I hate it when my clear one ends up looking a little pasty on my fake lashes giving everything away. Plus it makes it easier so i don't have to apply liner on top of the glue.

My main squeeze.
In a lot of ways my Walley reminds me of Edward. Then again our whole situation was complicated as Bella and Edward's. I'm blogging about twilight here (lol). In comparision though, I can only say that I can relate because I wouldn't want to be in a world without Walley. My favorite part as I mentioned before is when they spend the nights together, just him watching her as she sleeps. Those are the parts of my days that I look forward to, just being able to sleep in his arms and wake up in the morning to find him.
Come November will be our 3 years together being married. I believe the saying, "love gets better in time." ..because it does.

China Glaze stash

I am just starting to get into nail polish as I mentioned before. I went and bought 2 today at sally's and got 1 for free. OOOh yeah.
Left to Right: fast forward top coat (it does dry fast!)
for audrey
rich and famous
spontaneous
awakening
For Audrey. I loveeeeee. (i've been eyeing it for a while now) I think i'm more into pastels, I didn't do a frenchy on all fingers because I didn't have the patience too, but once I get a new white nail polish that dries faster I will. For Audrey reminds me of the tiffany & co. color.

I have been obsessed with reading the twilight series. I know I am behind but *eliz gave me Twilight to start, which was quick for me because I had already seen the movie, but then I read the sneak preview for New Moon and loveeed it. Then my sweet sweet husband brought home New Moon and I finished it quickly. He was like what? lol So we drove all over town to find this because I thought they'd have it in paperback but they don't.
*off to bed now and about to read eclipse*
night night beautiful ladies!

ELF Haul (pic heavy)

This is all the cadunkadunk I ordered! my hubby opens the box and says, "wow you got so much stuff!" ..lol
Enter in the code "carolina" and get 50% off purchases $15.00 or more. That includes shipping. I paid $24.40 for all of this and that included 3-day shipping.

The packaging of the items. It's nice to know how things are packaged.

The complexion brush.

So how is it? It's not fully rounded, it's actually flat with round edges. BUT, the brush is incredibly soft and feels good on my skin. I love the handles of these brushes.

The powder brush that everyone has been raving about. :)

In my honest opinion I was expecting it to be more full, BUT (again) I tried applying my foundation with this brush and it is *SPLENDID*. Very soft and I didn't have to use a lot of product to get the coverage I wanted with this brush. It is worth every one of my $3.

Swatches of the blush/bronzer (nars dupe). No flash.

Flash. I will have to say I was scared that this would be sheer but it's not. It's totally pigmented, I personally need a light hand when applying both blush and bronzer. So I use my highlighting brush to do so. I love that it's pigmented, it's well worth the price.

Eyeshadow Primer and Liner Sealant.

i must say..i loooovvee the primer. i am not much of a liner person but i can try my mac carbon to see how it runs. the primer is easy to apply, sorta reminds of me of a concealer but this stuff grabs hold of your shadows!

The eyeshadow brush ($1 version). I didn't know what to expect from this really, I sorta just threw it into the basket. It's full and I have not had any shedding problems so far. I'm actually using it as a blending brush. It's worth the $1. lol maybe even more though in my honest opinion.

Swatches from my shadow/liner stick in smoke. It's very pigmented as you can see and the liner is a gel liner. It seriously just glides on with no tugging. The lasting power could be better though.

ELF's nail polish in "Gum Pink". Just the color I was looking for. Not baby pink or hot pink, sorta inbetween. I love it, this is what it looks like with 2 coats.

I have some more stuff to do but I just wanted to post these for now. toodles!

Things to come and Random Thoughts

i think i'm such a doofus sometimes. i never knew that when painting your nails you should apply a base coat, polish, then top coat. LOL. oh well everyone learns, just like eyeshadow primer. i don't use primer unless i know i'll be out somewhere for a long time.
i ordered a bunch of stuff from E.L.F.'s website because i couldn't stand it. i mostly bought things from their "studio" line so i'm excited to try it out since i've been reading so many great reviews on them. it will be here tomorrow i believe.
i have to make a run to sally's to grab my nail polishes and decals. surprisingly my nails have not chipped that badly since i've applied the no chip 10 day nail color from sally hansen's. or it could be that my nails are short ^_^ but i do clean the dishes a lot.
i can't wait for keenan's things to get here. his matress gets here tomorrow (we're slow i know!) and we're gonna get him the bed set also. i mine as well spend money on him since he's going to be our only baby. he's going to be my best friend esp. when walley has to leave somewhere for a while. we still have to buy his carseat and bath things. with keenan around we'll finally have things to do. my life isn't the most exciting for those of you who don't know. i spend most of my days inside our apartment and walley does too, except for when he goes to work. but with the baby around we'll be up and active.
lastly, i finished reading the first book of the twilight series. i must say my favorite part was when edward spent the night with bella and sung her to sleep. she wakes up the next morning to find him still there and she runs into his arms, and she tells him she loves him!! i'm like aww wowweee. there's just something about when you get to sleep (not do anything dirty) with the one you cherish and finding them next to you in the morning. i know how that feels and its such a great feeling. ..and now onto new moon. when the movie comes out i will have to watch it with eliz and have nee watch baby for me. lol or we'll just watch it at home.
